THE WHOLESOME HOUND PET PANTRY

At The Wholesome Hound, I’ve always believed that pets aren’t just animals—they’re family. They’re our comfort on the hard days, our joy on the good ones, and our constant reminder that unconditional love still exists in the world. But as the cost of living rises and personal hardships become more common, many families in our community are struggling with something no pet parent ever wants to face: the fear of not being able to feed their pets. 

That’s why I’ve launched The Wholesome Hound Pet Pantry, a program designed to help individuals and families who are facing temporary financial hardship and need a little help keeping their pets fed, healthy, and home—where they belong. 

️ Why I Started the Pet Pantry:  Over the past year, I have met pet parents who are doing everything they can to care for their animals while managing job loss or changes, health issues, increasingly higher living costs, changes in housing, unexpected emergencies and life challenges in general. Some quietly admitted that they are struggling, others have contemplated surrendering a beloved pet because they can’t keep up with rising prices.   

I created The Wholesome Hound Pet Pantry because no one should ever have to think about surrendering their pet simply because their family is going through a tough time. 

How the Pet Pantry Works:  The Wholesome Hound Pet Pantry is simple, judgment-free, and meant to be accessible. 

For Anyone Needing Help:  If you’re having difficulty affording pet food, you can discreetly access the Pet Pantry at The Wholesome Hound, just see me at the front desk. I offer: 

• Dog and cat food (kibble and wet options as available, occasionally raw food) 
• Essential supplies when donations allow (treats, basic gear, supplements) 
• Short-term support to help families get through difficult periods 

There is no lengthy screening or invasive process—just kindness, community, and support. 

For Those Who Want and Are Able To Give Back: The Wholesome Hound Pet Pantry is fueled by the generosity of our community and donations I make myself. 

There are several ways to help and if you can, please do: 

• Donate unopened pet food, treats, or supplies
• Donate beverage cans, bottles all proceeds go to purchasing food for pantry 
• Make a financial contribution toward pantry purchases 
• Spread the word—you never know who may need it 

Every donation, big or small, helps a pet eat and a family breathe a little easier. 

 Why Community Matters:  Pets bring stability, emotional support, and companionship—especially during hardship. When we help someone feed their pet, we’re not just filling a bowl. We’re:
